A deep garnet colour with aromas of savoury, herbaceous red and black fruit with hints of tobacco and spice on the nose. Good cassis fruit intensity, well-managed tannins and a balanced, lean finish. The predominance of Cabernet Sauvignon over the Merlot shows this wine is made in the classic Medoc style and a mix of wooden vats followed by new and old oak barrels are used.

Chateau Cissac is along established Haut-Médoc wine property with its roots dating from 1769, 20 years before the French Revolution. It is found in the most northerly part of the Haut-Médoc appellation area, with the vines growing on a mainly sandy gravelly soil and climate tempered by the Gironde and the pine forests that border the coast.
Château Cissac has since the 1940s belonged to the Vialard family, and Louis Vialard built its reputation internationally through the mid to late 20th century. After his death in 2009 the vineyard has passed to his daughter and grandaughter to run and manage the 30 year old vines.
